During the academic year, the Office of Fellowships holds open office hours every Wednesday from 1:30-4pm in the ODIME Office on the first floor of SUB I. No appointment necessary. Come over, meet the director, and ask questions!
Types of appointments in the Office of Fellowships
General appointments usually last 20 minutes. In this appointment, you will meet the director and discuss your career goals and academic plans. You will receive general advice on appropriate fellowships, the application process, and how to prepare yourself academically. Please arrive on time and register at the front desk in the Honors College. Please bring a copy of your resume and a brief (5 pages or less) writing sample. Due to the high volume of students served through the office, late or missed general appointments will not be rescheduled without prior notice.
Fellowship application appointments are scheduled when a student has identified and committed to applying for a specific fellowship/s. These appointments last 30 minutes and are designed to help students address specific questions or concerns about their fellowship applications.
Editing appointments can be done by phone or in person. These appointments are for students who are in the process of applying for a specific fellowship/s. Editing appointments usually last between 30 minutes and 1 hour depending on the nature of the application. Students are expected to e-mail their edited essays to the director no later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled meeting.
Resume review appointments last 15 minutes. Undergraduate students can schedule these appointments to have their resumes reviewed by the director to provide advice on how to make them competitive for prestigious fellowships. Please arrive on time and register at the front desk in the Honors College. Please bring a copy of your resume to the appointment. A follow-up appointment can be scheduled if necessary. Due to the high volume of students served through the office, late or missed general appointments will not be rescheduled without prior notice.
